Sourcing Artwork

One of my favourite parts of the design process is sourcing pieces of art for my clients. Art is always a tricky one, as it’s subjective and extremely personal.

Sourcing artwork is all about finding the perfect piece for a space, and making it a reflection of your personality. The right artwork is the cherry on top of the cake – an opportunity to add something really impactful, exciting and fun into a scheme.

Often, I’ll use a piece of artwork a client loves as inspiration for the whole design concept, picking out the artwork colours for the walls, furniture and soft furnishings, tying in the whole scheme. Scale is important too, if you’re lucky enough to have high ceilings and a large walls, why not scale it up and create an absolute showstopper?

Displaying artwork is all about the mount and the framing. The right mount and frame can completely elevate an already amazing piece of art into something seriously spectacular. Personally, I love a contemporary matte gold and smart double mount picking out the artwork colours.

Finally, illuminate it. Your artwork looks amazing, and you want people to see it in all its glory. Hang art pieces next to wall lights, or add in a smart picture light to really show themoff.
