Master Bedroom
A relaxing sanctuary
The brief was to create a relaxing space for my clients – as they have young twin boys, this was a big ask!
We chose a restful colour palette of soft blues and greys. Of course, the most important thing in any bedroom is the bed – it’s the centrepiece of the room and somewhere we spend half of our lives, so it should be comfortable and inviting.
I’ve always loved the feeling you get when you go to a fancy hotel, walk into your room and see a huge bed with beautiful Egyptian cotton bedding. You want to do one of two things: jump up and down on it or throw yourself on it. This is the feeling you should have about your own bed. To create this feeling, I had an upholstered bed and bespoke headboard made from The Sofa & Chair Company.
The headboard was heavy embossed velvet and the bed base was grey sateen, so we added pops of colour with cushions The bedside tables and chest of drawers were from Julian Chichester in tactile faux leather, with shagreen finish and stylish handles.
We added finishing touches in the shape of beautiful bedside lamps from Heathfield with bespoke shades to compliment the colour scheme. Finally, new curtains and blinds were added for light reduction to aid peaceful sleep.
