Formal Reception Room

Wow Factor Lighting

The brief for this job was very specific regarding the colour palette – dusky pinks and purples – and my client had a clear idea of the look they wanted to achieve. We chose the curtain and blind fabric as a starting point, mauve with a leading edge in dusky pink. We also selected a bespoke sofa and an ottoman in mauve giraffe pattern velvet to add some quirkiness to the scheme, as well as a large dining table with upholstered dining chairs.

As I had recently finished another project for this client, I knew she appreciated how much the right lighting can give a room the wow factor. After seeing their products at a design show in Paris, I recommended a huge chain light from Italian company Terzani to take centre stage over the huge dining table. It was so heavy we had to reinforce the ceiling, but it was totally worth the effort as it looked AMAZING!

"Lisa took on the monumental task of helping me to plan and design 12 empty rooms to fit varying tastes and uses. The time, effort and organisation it involved was staggering – to say that she transformed the process from being daunting and overwhelming to an absolute pleasure is an understatement. Lisa’s knowledge and skill spans the whole spectrum, from basic to luxury, contemporary to boutique. She takes time to listen and importantly works within your brief and budget. What Lisa delivered was of outstanding quality, her attention to detail is impressive and no corners were cut. She has a unique eye and can gently encourage a brave approach where necessary, she helped me to step out of my comfort zone at times and, as a result, left me with a stunning and enviable home. I will be forever grateful for her guidance and encouragement, she is truly a master of her trade."
