Art Deco inspired opulence

The brief was to create a luxurious and opulent bedroom/dressing area. Budget: large. Hooray, my perfect job!

Art Deco is the ultimate in luxury and opulence and one my favourite eras in design. We chose a stunning peacock feather wallpaper from Osborne & Little as the basis for the scheme and built from there. Due to the room size, everything had to be scaled up.

The entire back wall was upholstered in panels using a luxurious jewel coloured velvet. I’d recently found a company who made the most stunning bespoke chain lighting, so I commissioned a large centre light and a tiered pendant light for either side of the bed.

All furniture was bespoke with beautiful inlays and handles, while window treatments used opulent silk fabrics with a bit of sparkle on the leading edges to up the Art Deco glamour.
