Formal Reception Room

THE BRIEF

On this occasion, there was no brief as my client didn’t have any idea of what to do with this space, an empty room.

This was a completely blank canvas, so I knew I needed to inject my client’s personality into this space

THE DETAILS

Inspired by the clients’ love of travel and Eastern influences, the scheme feels layered and expressive.

Large plants were introduced to echo the landscaped garden beyond, softening the transition between inside and out.

A vibrant teal Moroccan-inspired wallcovering from Arte sets the backdrop, paired with red velvet sofas and cream upholstered chairs.

Stunning Giacometti tables from Porta Romana and a Kelly Wearstler Channels Copper rug anchor the space, with sculptural wall lights and Luxxu Empire Oval chandeliers completing the room with quiet drama.

THE RESULT

The space was transformed from a blank, uninspiring shell into a vibrant and luxurious setting designed for entertaining.

Rich colour, layered textures and considered lighting combine to create a room that feels confident, atmospheric and welcoming — a space that’s as memorable for guests as it is enjoyable to live in

CLIENT WORDS

“Lisa has been my interior designer for the last four years, during which time she has completed a wide range of projects.

She has a bold, creative eye and can be relied on to provide a unique personal design. She loves colour, so give her a wide berth if your preference is monochrome minimalism.

Her knowledge of materials, products and suppliers is impressive. She is also selective in her choice of tradesmen. Woe betides any client who challenges her choices!

Over the years I have learned it is wiser (and safer) to defer to her excellent taste and unerring judgement which always produces results far better than I anticipated.

I have long lost count of the accolades, as her finished work invariably draws compliments from even the most discerning and demanding of guests.

Keeping her to budget requires more strength than I could ever muster, but her value long outlasts her prices”
